Russian Developers Invite Players to Join Online Truck Racing Game
Gamers can test-drive Soviet and modern KAMAZ trucks—and even become co-creators of the project.

A public test-drive of the new online game “Commanders of the Off-Road” has begun in Russia. The title is being developed by the Foxhound studio in Saransk with support from the Internet Development Institute (IRI) and the Government of the Republic of Mordovia. The multiplayer project immerses players in the world of Russian trucks—from vintage Soviet models to cutting-edge, high-tech KAMAZ vehicles.
Off-Road Racing Meets Open Development
The gameplay centers on extreme rally raids through rugged terrain. Players can deeply customize their vehicle lineup, with the demo already featuring nine models, including the classic KAMAZ-43105 and the modern KAMAZ-432690. The tracks are modeled on real Russian landscapes, ranging from the forests of the Volga region to the harsh beauty of the Putorana Plateau in Siberia.
A key feature of the demo is 12-player multiplayer races, allowing participants to test the game’s vehicle balance and driving physics on challenging off-road routes.
The developers have adopted an open development strategy, inviting players to act as co-authors of the project. By collecting feedback during testing, the team hopes to refine and enhance the game ahead of its official release.
Russia’s gaming industry is gaining momentum, increasingly showcasing projects rooted in local history, culture, and technology—and “Commanders of the Off-Road” is among the most promising examples of that new wave.
