Solar, a Russian cybersecurity systems developer and a subsidiary of Rostelecom, has introduced Zastava 8 – a line of products designed for government information systems and critical information infrastructure. The solutions use Russian cryptographic technologies and combine the national GOST standard with the international IPsec protocol, whose development also involved Russian specialists.

Certification from Russia’s Federal Security Service confirms that Zastava provides reliable protection immediately after installation. This is particularly relevant amid rising cyberattacks. According to the company, the rate of malware infections in 2025 increased fourfold compared with 2024. For government agencies, reliable remote access is a critical requirement. Zastava protects communication channels in accordance with regulatory requirements.

New Management Architecture

The technology introduces a new management architecture. Previously, configuration required access from an administrator’s workstation. Now, centralized management allows specialists to configure software, security policies, and distribute keys to thousands of devices from a single console. Physical presence in a specific office is no longer required. Automatic load balancing ensures stable operation even during peak demand. Zastava is designed to serve both small companies and federal-level government agencies.

As Solar noted, the platform allows employees to access corporate resources securely and in a familiar environment from remote workplaces. The system can be installed on the Russian operating systems Red OS and Astra Linux, as well as on Android.
