VTB Can Now Catch Fraudsters as They Log Into Someone Else’s Account
VTB Bank has launched a feature that immediately alerts customers if someone tries to access their account from another device while they have an active session.

The bank said customers can now end all active sessions and block unauthorized access with a single click, potentially stopping an attack before fraudsters can reach their accounts. Once the sessions are terminated, users have to log in again, giving them time to protect their money.
The feature is already available in VTB’s online banking service and its iOS and Android apps. Customers can view their login history and terminate all sessions at once from the security section.
According to the Bank of Russia, banks recorded 458,700 transactions made without customers’ consent in the second quarter, down 7.5% from the previous quarter. VTB attributes the decline to improvements in security mechanisms.
