AI Assistant in MTS Link Turns Meetings Into Action Plans

Russian developer MTS Link has expanded the capabilities of its AI assistant with a new feature that automatically generates task lists from online meetings. Instead of producing only a transcript, the system now converts discussions into structured assignments, helping teams move directly from conversation to execution.

The system produces more than a transcript of the discussion. It automatically generates a structured list that includes each assigned task, the responsible employee and the deadline. The list becomes available immediately after the meeting ends, and individual items can be copied directly into a corporate task tracker.

A Clear Action Plan, Generated Automatically

A demanding AI assistant like this can, above all, save time. According to industry estimates, managers spend up to 15% of their working hours documenting meeting outcomes. Even then, important assignments can be overlooked – something far less likely to happen with a virtual "secretary." Managers will also find it easier to monitor deadlines because they no longer need to replay recordings to verify who committed to delivering a report and by when. Since all the information appears in a single corporate workspace, employees can review it even if they were unable to attend the meeting itself.

Russian developers are gradually moving away from disconnected services – a messenger in one place, video conferencing in another and documents somewhere else – in favor of unified digital ecosystems. The new MTS Link functionality contributes to that transition by introducing practical workflow automation. Beyond improving business communications, the IT product also supports the replacement of foreign corporate software. Company data remain within the organization's own infrastructure, an important advantage for businesses with stringent information security requirements.

From Discussion to Action

In 2023, a Russian university student introduced the MyMeet AI assistant for video conferencing. The service transcribes online calls into reports containing summaries, action items and keywords. In 2024, MTS Link launched its first automatic meeting-summary feature, and a year later, in 2025, integrated it into the secure server-based version of its videoconferencing platform, addressing security concerns.

In 2025, Kontur.Tolk also introduced its own AI-powered meeting protocol. The market has since seen the emergence of specialized platforms included in Russia's official software registry. These systems identify assignments in real time, determine responsible employees and generate draft meeting minutes, reflecting the emergence of a distinct software category dedicated to automating management workflows.

The Most Useful

The developers' primary objective over the next two to three years is to transform the AI assistant from a passive summarization tool into an active participant in corporate workflows. MTS Link has already announced plans to integrate with external task trackers through APIs while also developing its own built-in task tracker. That will further automate routine work by introducing automatic monitoring of overdue assignments, intelligent reminders for responsible employees and consolidated task summaries spanning multiple meetings.

Interest in these capabilities continues to grow. According to MTS Link, customers used its AI assistant to generate meeting summaries four times more often in the fourth quarter of 2025 than they did a year earlier. AI assistants are now among the fastest-growing categories of enterprise software. By the end of 2026, Russia's corporate AI assistant market is expected to reach approximately 30 billion rubles (about $380 million), accounting for more than half of the country's entire generative AI segment, which is projected to total about 58 billion rubles (approximately $740 million).

Trust, but Verify

The new feature is currently undergoing beta testing, allowing real users to evaluate the nearly finished product, identify issues and provide feedback. Developers still need to minimize AI errors. The algorithms may incorrectly identify the responsible employee, confuse deadlines or interpret a hypothetical discussion as a finalized decision. For that reason, the AI-generated task list should be treated as a draft that requires verification by meeting participants.

Despite these limitations, experts believe the updated MTS Link assistant will attract strong interest from large industrial enterprises, government organizations, banks and educational institutions. By turning discussions into actionable work plans, it provides a practical starting point for execution rather than simply recording what was said.

The new feature enables end-to-end workflow scenarios. For example, a manager can hold a team meeting, instantly receive a list of the tasks assigned during it and monitor their completion in a task tracker – all within a single application. This approach helps ensure that nothing important is overlooked while freeing employees from routine administrative work
