Digital Sales Sidekick: Russia Launches AI Agent for Sales Teams

Russia’s Sber2B business group has launched an AI agent for companies that rely on sales. The AI agent helps analyze customer data, prepare for negotiations and automate some other operations. The development belongs to a new generation of more advanced enterprise AI tools.

Until recently, a CRM system (software for managing a company’s relationships with customers) was essentially a digital archive for the sales team. It stored the history of communications with a customer, information about deals, contacts and managers’ tasks. Employees had to study this information themselves and decide how to manage the relationship.

Russian developers have taken this model further. Sber2B’s new AI agent can not only work with accumulated information but also perform actions that a sales manager needs during the workday. Its main goal is to cut the time needed to prepare a sales proposal to 10 minutes and increase the share of deals handled automatically by 60–80%.

Getting Ready a Business Meeting

The AI agent starts working long before negotiations begin. First, it prepares a summary of upcoming meetings, sets priorities and gives the manager client briefings. Instead of manually gathering information from different public sources, the AI analyzes the company’s history in the CRM, transcripts of previous negotiations and data from the Unified State Register of Legal Entities (USRLE). It also displays news related to the company, its financial performance, information on government procurement and tenders.

Based on this data, the system creates an up-to-date list of products that may interest the customer and suggests a negotiation plan. In other words, the AI takes over the entire preparation process and carries it out consistently.

Practical Benefits

For businesses, the practical value of this collaboration is clear. Managers no longer need to spend their own time preparing for a call or meeting. Instead of a generic presentation, they get information tailored to a specific company and the issues it faces. In effect, the entire customer profile is laid out for the manager at a glance.

This is particularly important in B2B sales, where preparing for a deal can take weeks or months, and a customer’s decision depends on numerous factors, including coordination among several people, financial capacity, risks, reputation and much more.

In addition, the digital assistant works during negotiations themselves. It can suggest answers to customer questions by retrieving information directly from databases within the service interface. That sets the AI agent apart from a conventional chatbot. Users do not have to open a separate AI tool, copy the question into it, look for the necessary information and then return to the CRM.

AI as Part of the Workflow

The AI agent remains useful after negotiations as well. It converts speech to text, transcribes conversations, prepares meeting minutes, records agreements and enters the information into the CRM. It also drafts a follow-up email for the customer and monitors whether the agreed actions are completed. At the end of the workday, the system generates a summary and a list of the manager’s upcoming tasks. Employees no longer have to keep everything in their heads or manually write plans in a work notebook. Their digital “colleague” handles that work instead, reducing the risk of overlooking something important.

The benefit for managers is straightforward – less manual work and less worry about failing to finish or remember something. A sales manager can have a complete picture of what is happening with customers and deals. For companies, using an AI agent means faster deal cycles and a lower routine workload for employees.

The Export Potential of AI Agents

For now, Sber2B is primarily targeting Russia’s corporate market. But the underlying concept could also be applied outside Russia. Companies in other countries face many of the same challenges: finding customers, studying their history, preparing sales proposals, holding meetings, recording agreements and monitoring the next steps taken by everyone involved in a deal.

In those markets, the AI agent would have to account for local languages, laws, data-protection requirements, corporate systems and local business communication norms. Companies would also need local sales partners and distribution channels. But the basic idea of a digital assistant remains easy to understand and potentially useful in any country. If Russian developers can adapt their products to local markets, they could carve out a niche internationally as autonomous AI agents gain traction.

Most of a manager’s time should be spent working with customers, not searching for information and documenting the results of meetings. According to data from our project office, preparing for negotiations takes a manager more than 30 minutes when they gather information manually. The AI agent completes this task in about two minutes, making it 15 times faster. Preparing a sales proposal can take a manager up to two hours, while the AI agent can cut that time to 10 minutes. The employee receives customer data, a negotiation plan and product recommendations in ready-to-use form and can focus directly on communicating with the customer
