Industrial Robots Can Now Be Configured Without a USB Drive
Eidos Robotics has released a new version of its ErCode software environment for industrial robots. Most configuration and maintenance operations can now be performed over a network connection.
The main change concerns the way the robots are serviced. For some operations, engineers no longer need to transfer data using a USB drive or work through a physical HMI interface.
ErCode can be used to update, edit and upload robot programs, as well as retrieve and analyze logs, or records of equipment operation. The environment also supports updating signals and commands and working with points, global data and configurations. It also includes a dedicated feature for checking programs for unauthorized changes.
The company manufactures and integrates welding robots, palletizers, collaborative robots and machine-loading robots. According to Eidos Robotics, the new version of ErCode was tested on active projects, and the company confirmed that it is convenient for engineering and service tasks. The company has not provided specific test results.
