Kamchatka State University and Robot Nadezhdy company have completed the first production batch of seven humanoid robots named Dima. Built using 3D printing technology, the robots are designed to help children with autism spectrum disorder develop social and communication skills.

Four of the robots have already been delivered to schools in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

According to the developers, Dima can become a valuable classroom assistant by repeating tasks as many times as needed, maintaining predictable interaction patterns, and gradually helping children build communication skills. One of the robot's distinguishing features is a display capable of reproducing human facial expressions.

"Children really enjoy interacting with the Dima robot. It will provide tremendous support during speech therapy and special education sessions held in our classrooms," said Svetlana Kirpichenko, Principal of School No. 1 in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
