AI System Monitors Street Violations in Russia’s Arkhangelsk Region

In April alone, the Tsifrovoy inspektor (Digital Inspector) system detected hundreds of violations and helped authorities prepare administrative enforcement materials.

The hardware-and-software platform was launched in 2025 as part of the national Infrastruktura dlya zhizni (Infrastructure for Life) project. Powered by artificial intelligence, the system monitors urban maintenance violations and allows municipal authorities to respond quickly without relying on subjective manual inspections.

In Arkhangelsk, AI-based monitoring generated 107 administrative cases in April alone. The most common violations involved graffiti on building facades and vehicles parked on lawns. Authorities in Novodvinsk reported similar results: 20 cases were opened against vehicle owners who parked on grassy areas, while another seven citations were issued for graffiti on road signs.

The project is reshaping how urban environments are monitored by replacing infrequent and often inconsistent inspections with continuous automated oversight. Regional authorities say the system makes it possible to document violations objectively and respond without delay.
