AI-Made Film Parables Screened in Alushta
Visitors to the Sergeyev-Tsensky Museum in Alushta watched film parables created with artificial intelligence, one of the central themes of a meeting titled Ot stranits k ekranu (From Page to Screen).
The screening of AI-made film parables was part of a broader discussion about how literary texts are translated into the language of cinema. Visitors to the literary salon learned about a fundamental difference between the two art forms: books rely on text and the reader’s imagination, while movies tell stories through images and sound. Now, those visuals can be created not only by people but also by neural networks.
The discussion drew comparisons with classic screen adaptations of works by Sergeyev-Tsensky, Ivan Shmelev and Konstantin Stanyukovich, as well as contemporary directors’ interpretations of literary classics. Visitors watched film excerpts that provided context for a discussion of how cinematic language has evolved, from silent and narrative film to animation and works created with artificial intelligence.
