Moscow Students and Teachers Used MES AI Tools More Than 20 Million Times in a Year
Students and teachers using the Moscow Electronic School, or MES, turned to its artificial intelligence tools more than 20 million times in total during the past school year.

MES offers three AI-powered tools: Digital Teacher, Yandex’s AI Tutor, and an AI assistant for teachers. Each is designed for a different purpose.
Digital Teacher analyzes a student’s knowledge and academic performance and uses that data to select personalized assignments in math, English, physics, and computer science. AI Tutor acts as a personal math coach: instead of giving students the answer, it points out where they made a mistake and guides them toward the correct solution. The third tool is designed for teachers, helping them plan lessons, select materials from the MES digital library, prepare lesson notes, and create tests aligned with federal education standards.
Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin previously discussed the expansion of MES services at an August meeting of educators. He said that starting this year, a quarter of all Russian school students will have access to the electronic school and its digital library.
