EAEU Countries and Russia Launch Digital Agriculture Initiative
A new joint education program aims to accelerate the digital transformation of agriculture across the Eurasian Economic Union.

A new educational project titled Tsifrovizatsiya APK (Digitalization of the Agro-Industrial Complex) has launched at the K. A. Timiryazev Moscow Agricultural Academy, one of Russia’s leading agrarian universities, the institution’s press service said. The initiative is being implemented jointly with countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). It is the eighth collaborative project of its kind. Previously, faculty members from 20 universities in Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia completed training programs in plant breeding, winemaking, aquaculture, and other fields.
An IT-Driven Field
The new project will introduce participants to advanced digital technologies for agriculture. Organizers say it will help deploy cutting-edge solutions at EAEU enterprises and train a new generation of specialists. Today, agriculture increasingly relies on drones for fieldwork, inspection, and monitoring. Artificial intelligence is used to analyze the condition of livestock and crops, provide feeding and fertilization recommendations, and support breeding and seed production. Industry professionals are now expected to possess strong IT competencies alongside traditional agricultural skills.
