Moscow Aviation Institute Is to Launch Drone Operator Training in Russia's Far East
The Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI) will begin training specialists in unmanned aircraft systems in Russia's Far East on Sept. 1, 2026, through a new partnership with the Amur Multifunctional Center for Professional Qualifications in the city of Belogorsk.

Twenty students from the center will enroll in the network-based program. A dedicated classroom equipped with flight simulators has already been prepared. Most instruction will be delivered remotely, while in-person training will also be available. Students will be able to attend sessions at MAI in Moscow, and university instructors will travel to Russia's Amur Region to teach on site.
During the visit, the two sides also discussed plans to open a specialized MAI-affiliated class at School No. 200 in Belogorsk.
