Russia Launches “Tutor AI” — an Intelligent Platform for Math Education

The Project Helps Students Master Math and Prepare for Exams With Machine Learning

More than 150 experienced Russian teachers, together with experts from Yandex, have launched “Tutor AI”, an intelligent educational platform designed to help students prepare for Russia’s national math exam (Unified State Exam, or EGE).

The system is powered by a specialized machine-learning model trained on real exam tasks and student solutions. It explains mathematical theory, breaks down problem-solving logic, and guides users step-by-step toward the correct answer.

The project was created in response to research showing that nearly half of Russian students struggle with math due to a lack of structured study plans and consistent teacher support. Tutor AI addresses this by offering personalized learning paths, topic-based practice sets, and an interactive problem-solving simulator that adapts to each student’s pace.

For Every Level of Preparation

The platform supports multiple levels of difficulty — from basic exam readiness to advanced problem-solving. Students can take custom mock exams and access official FIPI (Federal Institute of Pedagogical Measurements) problem banks. Currently, Tutor AI works with advanced-level mathematics, while a basic-level course is scheduled to launch in December. In the future, the system will expand to include other academic subjects.

Not Just for Students

By the end of the year, the platform will also open teacher accounts, allowing educators to create custom problem sets, monitor student progress, and manage the learning process online.

Developers emphasize that Tutor AI serves as a bridge between artificial intelligence and traditional teaching, providing students with autonomous learning tools while enhancing teachers’ ability to personalize and scale their instruction.
