Russia Sees Surge in Online AI Education as Demand for Automation Skills Grows

Enrollment in online AI courses across Russia has tripled in 2025, with business automation and neural network training topping the charts.

Russia’s online education market for artificial intelligence is booming. According to the domestic platform GetCourse, 17 new AI-related educational projects were launched in the first half of 2025 alone. Remarkably, 75% of all current online AI schools in the country have been created within the past 18 months.

This spike in supply is matched by a surge in demand. In the first six months of 2025, Russian users paid for 27,744 AI-related courses—far surpassing figures from previous years. The total revenue from AI education has approached 572 million rubles (roughly $6.5 million USD).

The most in-demand subjects include foundational training on neural networks, content creation using AI tools, and business process automation. Courses focused on AI in marketing have seen a particularly sharp rise, with offerings quadrupling in the past year.

In 2025, the average cost of AI education dropped by nearly 20%, making it more accessible. As a result, student enrollment has nearly tripled—reaching 28,000 learners so far this year.
