Russian Encryption Tech to Power Data Protection in Max Messaging App

A new integration with CryptoPro CSP will secure text communications now — and calls in the near future.

Russian platform Max is partnering with cybersecurity firm CryptoPro to implement domestic cryptographic libraries using CryptoPro CSP. The upgrade is expected to significantly strengthen data protection for text messaging and, in the future, voice and video calls, according to a report by Telecom Daily.

Modern digital platforms demand robust end-to-end security. The integration of Russian cryptographic tools ensures confidentiality — keeping user data safe from attackers, integrity — preserving message contents during transmission, and secure authentication — reducing the risk of unauthorized access.

Specialists are currently auditing the integration to validate how the security mechanisms perform. Additional features across the Max platform are expected to benefit from the same cryptographic protections over time.

The move supports Russia’s push for technological sovereignty and aims to boost user trust in domestic digital services.
