Russian Operator to Ensure Seamless Connectivity With China

Russia’s Beeline and China Mobile have launched a joint service designed to help Chinese users make affordable calls home.

Russian and Chinese mobile operators have launched a joint project called CMLink – a single SIM card that provides connectivity with operators in both countries. The service is aimed at Chinese citizens who come to Russia to live and work. Forbes reported on the project.

CMLink links a Chinese phone number with a Russian one. Users can receive calls, text messages, and verification codes from foreign apps. The SIM card can be purchased at Beeline retail stores in Russia. The service will operate not only in Russia, but also in Canada, Italy, Japan, Australia, and other countries.

Home on the Line

According to preliminary estimates, more than 1.6 million Chinese citizens visited Russia in 2025. From 2026, tourist flows are expected to increase, as Russia has introduced a 30-day visa-free regime for Chinese visitors. In the first nine months of the current year alone, more than 73,000 Chinese nationals arrived in Russia for work. Thanks to the joint development by the two companies, they will be able to stay in touch with home without technical barriers.

The project also highlights the high level of development of Russian telecom solutions that are relevant for many countries.
