Russia’s national app marketplace, RuStore, has launched a new technology that dramatically reduces app installation time. The first app to showcase this innovation is the domestic messenger MAX, which now installs in an average of just 15 seconds—compared to the previous 1–2 minutes.
This improvement stems from an upgraded installation protocol, advanced multi-threaded download algorithms, and file compression technology. Earlier efforts had already boosted download speeds by 24%, while cutting data consumption by 22%.
MAX users were the first to experience the convenience and speed of this update. Over time, the same improvements will be rolled out across other apps on RuStore. With a monthly user base of 7–10 million, the benefits—time saved and reduced data usage—will soon reach a wide audience. These upgrades also position RuStore as a strong contender against foreign app ecosystems.
Better User Experience, Especially for Government and Business Apps
With legislation now requiring MAX to be pre-installed on smartphones in Russia, the rollout of this faster download technology is likely to boost user satisfaction.

By 2024, the store hit two milestones: over 140 million downloads and more than 10 million active users.
In June 2025, RuStore entered the Vietnamese market—marking its first step toward global expansion. The platform continues to evolve as a national app ecosystem, prioritizing user experience and performance.
