Sechenov University Develops AI System for Personalized Diabetes Management in Women

Young researchers at Sechenov University are developing an artificial intelligence system designed to monitor blood glucose levels in women with diabetes while accounting for female physiological characteristics.

The system will combine data from continuous glucose monitoring with information about hormonal cycles, treatment, and patients' lifestyles. The researchers expect the approach to identify individual patterns and support more personalized diabetes care.

"We are advancing an approach that treats female physiology as an independent, clinically significant factor influencing blood glucose levels and the progression of diabetes. Our AI system will integrate glucose monitoring data, analyses of hormonal cycle patterns, and information about each patient's treatment and lifestyle into a single platform," said Sechenov University student Ekaterina Ershova.

The project also involves researchers from Bauman Moscow State Technical University, the Moscow Technical University of Communications and Informatics, and Saint Petersburg State University of Aerospace Instrumentation.
