Angarsk Library to Add VR Headsets, Coworking Space and Recording Studio
The Angarsk Central City Library is being transformed into a technology-enabled space under the Semya (Family) national project. More than 17 million rubles from budgets at all levels have been allocated for the renovation.

A coworking space with high-speed internet, a sound recording booth, interactive panels and a navigation terminal will be installed across an area of about 2,000 square meters. Visitors will have access to VR and AR headsets, as well as a tourist information center kiosk. A dedicated youth space with a stage for concerts and performances and a family area, Family Chitaymer, for parents and children will also be created.
The library will retain its existing digital projects, including a computer literacy school for older adults and a virtual concert hall. All staff have already completed training to work with the new equipment.
Renovation work has been completed, and specialists are installing equipment and furniture. During a working visit, Irkutsk Region Culture Minister Olesya Polunina reviewed the progress of the project. The renovated library, the second model library in Angarsk, is scheduled to open on Sept. 7, 2026.
