Rostelecom Deploys Robotic Welding at the Volgograd Foundry and Mechanical Plant
Robotic welding technology now ensures consistent product quality by eliminating variability caused by manual operations.
Rostelecom engineers have deployed a turnkey robotic manufacturing system at the Volgograd Foundry and Mechanical Plant, completing the project from installation through commissioning.
The installed equipment includes a six-axis industrial welding robot, specialized production tooling, and a functional safety system for welding operations. Together, the system delivers consistently high product quality while eliminating the impact of human variability.
The new robotic system can eventually be fully integrated into the plant's digital manufacturing environment. In particular, it can connect to the shop-floor infrastructure via the Ethernet/IP protocol, enabling remote diagnostics, telemetry, and 24/7 monitoring of operating conditions.
