Turnkey IT Infrastructure

Russia’s market now has a unified hardware-and-software complex designed to replace foreign virtualization and data storage solutions in enterprise data centers.

Russian companies Graviton, ITKey and MIND Software have introduced a joint hardware-and-software complex for enterprise IT infrastructure. The solution combines server hardware, a data storage system, a virtualization platform and cloud management tools in a single product, giving businesses a ready-to-use foundation without the need to integrate disparate components.

Architecture for High-Load, Resource-Intensive Tasks

The hardware foundation consists of Graviton S2122I 2U servers from Graviton Group LLC. The dual-processor machine uses a modular architecture and can accommodate up to 12 NVMe drives, making it well suited to high-performance clusters for resource-intensive workloads.

Data organization is handled by MIND uStor, a software-defined system that builds distributed storage on standard hardware from MIND Software, a developer of system and infrastructure software. A configuration starts with three servers and can scale to 64 nodes without redesigning the network architecture. With fast storage and a high-bandwidth network, the system can handle high-load applications.

KeyVirt, a cloud virtualization platform from Klyuchevye IT Resheniya LLC under the ITKey brand, creates virtualized environments and provides fault tolerance, load balancing and live migration between nodes. Testing showed that KeyVirt caused only a minimal drop in CPU performance compared with running workloads on physical hardware. For distributed organizations, the company also offers the ITKey KeyStack platform. It centralizes management, automates service deployment, and handles monitoring and logging. KeyStack supports hybrid environments that use both virtual machines and containers and is already running in deployments with more than 30,000 hosts. Its built-in AI assistant analyzes infrastructure status in real time, helps administrators investigate incidents and generates recommendations for fixing failures, reducing the workload on IT teams.

Ready for Production

The joint solution has completed a full cycle of load testing on Graviton S2122I servers. Test reports confirm stable operation of the components, compatibility with different operating systems and readiness for production use. For customers, that means a unified stack for computing, storage and cloud management that can replace imported platforms, reduce reliance on foreign software licenses, make more efficient use of data center space and modernize infrastructure without tying it to Western architectures.

The architecture’s versatility allows the complex to serve strategically important industries. In finance, for example, it can help keep banking transaction-processing systems and databases running continuously. For government agencies, it offers a way to strengthen information security and maintain independence from foreign suppliers. Industrial companies can use the stack to support resource-intensive applications across distributed sites, while telecom operators can manage thousands of network nodes more flexibly. In healthcare, the complex can provide reliable storage for medical archives, while retailers and logistics companies can use it to support high-load services.

Three Stages of Independence: From Compatibility Testing to a Unified Standard

Since 2022, Russia’s IT market has shifted toward finding alternatives to foreign virtualization platforms and infrastructure software. At first, manufacturers and developers focused on targeted integration. One example is the partnership between YADRO and the Astra Group, which introduced joint server configurations with preinstalled operating systems and virtualization tools. This helped confirm the stability of Russian-made modules and establish compatibility standards.

By 2023, demand had shifted toward hyperconverged solutions that combine computing, storage, networking and management in a single block. The vStack platform, developed by ITGLOBAL.COM and preinstalled on servers from DEPO Computers and Aquarius, made it possible to deploy private clouds starting with three nodes and scale resources as needed. In 2024, the focus moved toward certified hardware-and-software complexes, or PACs, with a single supplier responsible for the entire system. For example, RT-Iridium, a Rostec State Corporation developer, introduced Iridium, a certified solution for critical information infrastructure that manages millions of objects and operates independently of open-source software.

Today, the market is moving toward ecosystem consolidation, with developers combining effective components into a single product. Businesses get a balanced hardware-and-software complex in which networking and storage are optimized to work with the hypervisor, eliminating compatibility risks.

AI, Private Clouds and Exports

Demand for these solutions remains high. Analysts estimate that Russia’s combined market for server hardware and storage systems reached 280 billion rubles (about $3.3 billion) in 2025, while the virtualization software segment grew to 19.4 billion rubles (about $230 million). According to forecasts from iKS-Consulting and Basis, the virtualization market is expected to grow by 20% annually through 2030, pushing it above 50 billion rubles (more than $593 million). Demand for these platforms is likely to persist as data centers need to be modernized. Private clouds and infrastructure for AI workloads are expected to become key growth areas. The solutions are aimed at the domestic market, but as compatibility expands, they could also provide a foundation for exporting infrastructure software to friendly countries.

Many vendors are now developing their own modules and platforms to meet regulatory requirements and account for the specifics of the infrastructure. The distinctive feature of this new stage is the creation of independent platforms from the ground up, which makes it possible to account for the requirements of Russian regulators and the needs of the market
