KulibIT-2026: Digitalization at a New Level

October 17, 2026, in Moscow, the final of the KulibIT-2026 National Digitalization Award was held at MosHub.Skolkovo, a business venue operated by the Moscow Department of Information Technology.

The competition was held for the sixth consecutive year to evaluate and recognize innovative digital solutions developed by Russian organizations.

The goal of KulibIT is to identify the best projects aimed at digitalizing businesses and the national economy.

The main requirement is that the digital project has been implemented within the applicant’s own organization and has delivered significant benefits.. Software developers, systems integrators, and IT companies that sell their services or carry out commissioned projects were not eligible to enter the award, but they could invite their clients to participate.

A total of 22 projects from 15 Russian companies advanced to the final round of the sixth season. Applicants only needed to complete a form on the official website to register for the competition.

An expert panel drawn from members of the “ya-IT-y” community was assembled to select the most significant projects for validation, while a professional jury evaluated the finalists.

The panels assessed projects based on efficiency, complexity, uniqueness, and product management quality. All participants received professional audits from industry experts, conducted from June through August 2026.

One distinctive feature of the competition is that the jury’s assessment of project presentations at the final accounts for just 35% of each company’s overall score. The remaining 65% is based on discussions held during the preparation stage between project team representatives and experts: executives and leading specialists in IT, digitalization, data management, artificial intelligence, and information security, all with professional expertise in their respective fields.

The supervisory board is another important part of the competition. Over KulibIT’s six-year history, it has intervened in the project selection process several times to uphold the competition’s principles. The most common reason for disqualifying a project is an IT company attempting to present a market-ready solution it developed without involving the customer.
