Russian Regions Add New Public Services to the MAX Messenger
Regional chatbots inside Russia’s national messaging app are making Wi-Fi access, government services, and digital notifications easier to use.

Russia’s national messenger MAX continues to evolve into a platform for everyday public services. In the Penza region, local authorities launched a new chatbot that helps users find public Wi-Fi hotspots. The bot not only shows nearby connection points on a map but also provides step-by-step instructions for getting online. Users can send feedback directly through the app to report issues or suggest improvements.
Localized Digital Services on One Platform
Other regions are rolling out similar tools. In the Orenburg region, a MAX-based chatbot now connects residents with their local government service centers. Through the bot, users can check office hours and current wait times, schedule or cancel appointments, and track the status of submitted documents — all available 24/7.
Authorities have also migrated their document readiness notifications from SMS and social media to MAX, consolidating communication in one secure, national platform.
As the messenger integrates more regional digital services, MAX is steadily becoming a key part of Russia’s broader push toward sovereign, citizen-centered digital infrastructure.
