Russia Launches Its Largest-Ever AI and Algorithmic Programming Championship
More than 10,000 participants from 50 countries are competing in the international RuCode festival.

Russia has become the international host for one of the world’s largest competitions in artificial intelligence and algorithmic programming — RuCode. Previously a national event, the championship went global this year, attracting over 10,000 participants from 50 countries.
Qualifying rounds are being held both online and at universities across Russia. Contestants tackle complex algorithmic challenges using programming code, testing not only technical skills but also creativity and problem-solving ability. The festival aims to popularize programming and draw new talent into one of the most strategically important fields for the country’s digital economy. Organizers call RuCode “the national benchmark of intellectual competitions.”
A Record-Breaking Event
Educational institutions and teams can win grants for their projects, showcase ideas to potential investors, and attend training sessions with professors from top tech universities. After the qualifying rounds, a public vote and expert review will determine the winners, who will be honored in mid-November at the RuCode Festival hosted by Sirius University in Sochi.
