A Robotic Auto Parts Plant Is Being Built in Saratov
Russia has yet to see a facility of this level.
Construction has begun in Saratov’s Stolypinskiy industrialnyy park (Stolypin Industrial Park) on a plant that will supply components for Russian trucks. Its main product will be next-generation transfer cases for brands including KAMAZ, MAZ and Ural.
The new facility will rely heavily on industrial robotics, which will not only reduce the need for strenuous manual labor but also cut costs. The project is described as the first facility of its level in Russia.
Boarding Vocational School No. 64 will train professionals to work with modern robotics. The school will be housed in a former aviation technical college building in Saratov.
Vyacheslav Volodin, chairman of the Gosduma (State Duma), said the future belongs to advanced, highly automated plants like this one.
The plant is expected to begin operations in 2029. By 2031, it is expected to reach its designed capacity of up to 30,000 components a year.
