A Russian Manufacturer Will Supply Innovative Drones to the Middle East

A Russian UAV developer is entering the Middle Eastern market with drones equipped with a next‑generation airborne laser‑scanning system already proven in the country’s energy sector.

Expanding Russia’s Presence in the Middle Eastern UAV Market

Supercam, a Russian manufacturer of unmanned aerial vehicles, has begun offering its systems to customers in the Middle East. The announcement was made by company representative Ekaterina Zgirovskaya at the international aerospace exhibition in Dubai, where Supercam outlined its plans to establish a firm position in the regional market.

The drones are equipped with a new airborne laser‑scanning system already deployed at oil fields across Russia. According to Zgirovskaya, UAVs in the Arab region could be used for scanning offshore platforms, creating digital twins to optimize operations, and supporting monitoring efforts at various stages of extraction.

A Decade of Engineering for the Energy Sector

“Airborne laser scanning today is the most productive method of obtaining geospatial data, and it continues to advance,” she emphasized.

Supercam has specialized in solutions for the fuel‑and‑energy sector for more than ten years. During this period, the company has supplied leading Russian enterprises with pipeline‑monitoring drones, methane‑leak detectors, and UAVs designed for laser‑scanning missions.
