Russia has introduced its first virtual AI cashier for restaurants and cafes, capable of interacting with customers in a human-like way and helping them choose menu items. The technology is expected to be deployed in more than 350 venues by the end of the year. Early results show the system can speed up customer service by 35%.

Unlike traditional self-service kiosks that require users to navigate touchscreens and browse menus, the AI cashier works through voice interaction. Customers can simply say the name of a dish, and the system will identify and select the appropriate items, eliminating the need to search through menus or understand the interface.

Users can also ask about ingredients, calorie content or allergens. The system can process requests such as removing specific ingredients and communicate them directly to the kitchen. The solution is fully ready for deployment.

For Cafes and Food Courts

The virtual cashier is the first product of its kind in Russia. Alexander Buravtsov, CEO of Inno Clouds, said development of the AI cashier began in March 2025.

“Overall, this format is best suited for fast-food outlets, food courts and cafes, mainly because it can double service speed and increase venue revenue by 15 – 30%,” Buravtsov said.

The solution is designed for quick-service establishments. According to the developers, cafes and restaurants will not only serve customers faster but also significantly increase revenue. By the end of 2026, more than 350 locations across Russia are expected to adopt the technology.
