VNII GOChS and HSE Join Forces to Improve Natural Disaster Forecasting
The All-Russian Research Institute for Civil Defense and Emergency Situations (VNII GOChS) and the Faculty of Geography and Geoinformation Technologies at HSE University (Moscow) are launching a partnership to apply advanced digital and geospatial technologies to emergency response operations and improve forecasting of natural disasters and their consequences.

The collaboration will focus on four key areas: predictive analysis of natural hazards, the digital modernization of emergency response services, expert consulting that includes the development of regional vulnerability assessments, and workforce development. The partners will establish joint working groups and hold regular consultations to exchange up-to-date data.
Tatyana Aniskina, director of the Geodata Center at HSE University's Faculty of Geography, called the partnership a great honor for the university and said it would provide an opportunity to validate research in real-world applications while improving the safety of people and communities.
