In Podolsk, residents can now connect to the gas grid through a digital service. Under the social gasification program, more than 1,000 homes have already received access to the fuel. Officials have moved the entire process – from submitting an application to final connection – into digital format.

Residents can complete paperwork, sign contracts, track project status and submit questions without leaving home through the online platform. In total, the system offers 29 services from Mosoblgaz.

Digital Metering and Oversight

Across Russia, utilities are gradually shifting to digital platforms, prompting IT companies to develop specialized services. As previously reported, Turbulentnost Don created a mobile application for paying gas bills and monitoring consumption. A service from Else Digital automatically submits meter readings, enables online payments and stores historical data.

Gazprom Mezhregiongaz is also continuing its digital transformation of gas metering and oversight. By 2030, the company plans to equip all systems used by industrial and municipal consumers with telemetry.

By the end of 2025, smart meters had been installed at 75,000 sites, with another 6,000 scheduled next. The STM100 program focuses on deploying modern digital solutions for remote monitoring and gas consumption safety. Data from smart meters is transmitted to Ediny pult upravleniya (Unified Control Center), a Russian software system that automates the collection, processing and storage of information on gas supplies.
