Russian Students Develop AI Mascot and Smart Assistant for Analysts
At the Baikal.Code Hackathon, teams unveiled an animated real estate mascot and a digital assistant designed to automate routine system analyst tasks.

Baikal.Code Hackathon took place at Irkutsk National Research Technical University, focusing on the creation of AI-powered digital assistants. Participants demonstrated not only coding skills but also teamwork during the three-day intensive. Organizers singled out two standout projects.
The WebSpirit team, led by Ivan Shushpanov, developed an animated AI-driven mascot. It moves across a website, guides users to relevant real estate search tools and answers frequently asked questions. The team plans to continue refining the mascot for deployment in the real estate sector.
Understanding User Intent
The Optima team, composed of students from IRNITU, BGU and IGU and led by Yakov Vaikus, streamlined the process of creating client assessment protocols. Their digital assistant aims to free system analysts from routine tasks and simplify data processing. The smart assistant completes tasks in seconds, compared with the four hours previously required for manual processing.
So-called digital employees are gaining traction across Russia’s economy. AI agents are particularly valued in healthcare, housing and utilities, public administration and finance. They learn quickly, adapt to new conditions, interpret context, handle nonstandard requests and deliver precise solutions.
