In Monchegorsk, School Students Get a Lab for Future Engineers
The V. G. Sizov Lyceum in Monchegorsk has opened Metallurg Budushchego (Metallurgist of the Future), a new physics laboratory created as part of the Arkticheskaya shkola (Arctic School) project.
The space is designed to train future engineers and combines several fields, including mechanics, robotics and digital modeling. This combination will give students a more practical perspective on familiar areas of physics.
At the opening ceremony, guests were shown the capabilities of the new facility, while lyceum students presented their first projects – a remote-controlled car, an RGB ring that encrypts signals, an electronic matrix with a dial, and a small weather station.
The lyceum plans to use the laboratory as a hub for preparing students for physics Olympiads and for in-depth study of the subject by any student who is interested.
