Major Russian Tech Companies Unite to Develop Cloud-Native Technologies

VK Cloud, Yandex Cloud, and Flant have formed the country’s first industry association dedicated to cloud-native development.

Three of Russia’s largest cloud technology providers — VK Cloud, Yandex Cloud, and Flant — have joined forces to create the Association of Cloud-Oriented Technologies (AOT), according to a statement from VK Cloud’s press service.

The new organization will focus on advancing cloud-native technologies — applications designed and run directly in the cloud, which makes them easier to scale and reduces development costs. The association also plans to standardize development practices, support open-source solutions, and unite professionals and companies working in the cloud ecosystem.

Open to All

“AOT will become the first organization in Russia to develop new approaches, standards, and architectures for cloud-native technologies without being tied to any specific vendor. Any company that uses cloud technologies can become a partner, and any IT specialist can join as a member,” VK Cloud’s representatives said.

The initiative marks a strategic consolidation of efforts across the Russian tech sector — a shift from isolated corporate projects toward collaborative ecosystem development. By pooling expertise and resources, the association aims to strengthen the foundation of Russia’s cloud infrastructure and accelerate its digital transformation.
