Russian Regions to Be Ranked by Pace of AI Adoption
Authorities are developing measurable indicators to track how effectively artificial intelligence is being implemented across regional governments.

Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Grigorenko said regional governments should be evaluated on their adoption of artificial intelligence based on measurable results rather than declarations. The issue is currently being discussed within the State Council framework.
Metrics for Regional Performance
Speaking at a government meeting, Grigorenko emphasized the need for a structured approach to AI deployment, with clear understanding of where and how technologies should be implemented. The State Council commission on “Data Economy,” chaired by Andrey Vorobyov, is now working on introducing quantitative performance indicators for regions. These metrics will make it possible to track how actively regional authorities are using AI-driven digital tools.
According to the deputy prime minister, the key priority is to accelerate the rollout of digital assistants that improve productivity and support faster decision-making by providing consolidated information.
AI could reshape the world much like electricity once did
Grigorenko noted that while artificial intelligence is widely discussed, it remains a complex and often underestimated technology.
