Russian Automakers Shift to Domestic AI Solutions
AvtoVAZ is deploying a homegrown system for engineering and production planning

Russia’s automotive industry is moving toward domestic digital technologies, with new systems now in use at AvtoVAZ, according to the Russian government. The company has implemented a fully domestic digital platform to manage data across every stage of a vehicle’s lifecycle. The system organizes processes from design through production and into operation. Its monitoring capabilities help manage technical workflows and reduce downtime.

The platform is connected to nearly 200 machines and used by more than 1,000 specialists. It has increased production efficiency by 15% and reduced costs by more than 100 million rubles (approximately $1.1 million).
AvtoVAZ is also testing a domestic platform for engineering and production preparation. The system will enable companies to manage engineering data within a unified digital environment, design components and electrical systems, simulate processes, and create 3D visualizations. The solution is expected to be deployed across major automotive manufacturing enterprises in Russia.
