One in Three Russians Willing to Pay for AI-Generated Art

New research shows growing acceptance of AI-generated content among Russian consumers, especially those with higher incomes.

One in three Russians is ready to spend money on artistic works created by artificial intelligence. According to a report from Rossiyskaya Gazeta citing the Analytical Center of the National Agency for Financial Studies, willingness to pay correlates strongly with income level.

Among respondents earning less than 30,000 rubles per month, 26 percent expressed willingness to buy AI-generated works. That number rises to 41 percent among those earning more than 100,000 rubles monthly.

The study also found that 20 percent of respondents believe AI is capable of producing fully fledged works of art.

Despite skepticism, neural networks are already creating award-winning content. The Russian film 'Genghis Khan,' entirely generated by AI, was recognized at the Cannes Film Festival. It has been screened not only in Russian theaters but also internationally, including in Kazakhstan.

AI is now producing classical music, paintings, and other forms of creative output. In one notable case, a neural network performed a duet with a Russian singer, delivering a rendition of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s 'Phantom of the Opera.'
