RM System as a Procurement Accelerator: IDS Borjomi’s New Strategy
System integrator NORBIT has moved IDS Borjomi’s procurement operations to a unified Russian SRM system built on the BPMSoft platform. The move is expected to cut operating costs and speed up procurement.
IDS Borjomi is a large organization that includes plants producing bottled water in PET packaging, as well as water for offices and homes in large polycarbonate containers. Its production facilities and warehouses are located in the Moscow, Novosibirsk, Lipetsk and Kostroma regions, as well as in Georgia. The company works with hundreds of counterparties, but its fragmented procurement and accounting systems require extensive manual work and slow down deal-making.
New Efficiency Standard
Procurement teams had to rely on Excel spreadsheets, email and several disconnected information systems. Moving to the BPMSoft low-code platform brought procurement into a single digital environment. Now the entire process, from analyzing needs and organizing tenders to signing contracts and monitoring their execution, takes place in one SRM system.
“In the IDS Borjomi project, we standardized work rules and procedures and eliminated duplicate data before transferring it to a unified system. This shortened the procurement cycle and reduced manual work while preserving common requirements for procurement operations,” said Roman Gnatko, Commercial Director at NORBIT.
The company expects the project to reduce labor costs by 20% and cut the average procurement cycle to 28 days from 35.
Growth Drivers
Russian companies are increasingly adopting domestic software for business process management, document workflows, procurement and analytics. According to MWS Cloud, the enterprise software market grew 23% in 2025 to 1.49 trillion rubles ($17.4 billion). Cloud and platform services, enterprise and data management tools, customer engagement systems and cybersecurity solutions saw the strongest demand. This year, the PaaS and platform-services segment is growing faster than other areas, and the market for platform software could exceed 163 billion rubles ($1.9 billion).
Businesses are moving toward automated management based on large-scale data, which requires infrastructure that can maintain operational stability and competitiveness. Low-code platforms allow companies to adapt software as business processes change without expanding their IT teams, so demand for these tools is likely to keep growing. Meanwhile, SRM platforms are set to become more deeply integrated with AI. In the near term, algorithms are expected to forecast price fluctuations on their own, assess counterparty reliability in real time and recommend optimal procurement scenarios.
Platforms Instead of Point Solutions
Demand for Russian software to automate supplier and procurement operations surged in 2022, when the departure of several Western vendors exposed the vulnerability of systems critical to businesses. Companies initially focused on replacing individual components, but the emphasis quickly shifted toward comprehensive platforms that combine electronic bidding, contract management and analytics. By 2024, the market already had more than 10 mature Russian solutions for closed corporate environments.
By 2025, ecosystems such as B2B-Center, an electronic marketplace for corporate procurement and sales, and BPMSoft, a platform for automating business processes and customer interactions, had become standard tools for the largest enterprises. Russian platforms can integrate seamlessly with companies’ internal ERP systems, enabling them to manage procurement budgets worth billions of rubles more effectively.
A Basic Condition for Growth
The IDS Borjomi project illustrates how the digital economy is moving from automating individual operations toward comprehensive data-driven management. In the coming years, SRM systems are likely to merge fully with ERP and BI platforms. Procurement will become part of a unified enterprise digital system that manages the entire supply chain, from raw-material purchasing to logistics and production.
Technological sovereignty in enterprise software is a basic condition for the growth and global competitiveness of Russian businesses in both domestic and international markets.
