Russia Offers Cybersecurity Tech to Safeguard Energy Systems of Allied Nations

A new agreement between Russia’s Ministry of Energy and the Cybers Foundation will export homegrown cybersecurity tools to protect energy sectors in partner countries.
Russian-developed cybersecurity tools are going global. At the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russia’s Ministry of Energy signed an agreement with the Cybers Foundation to collaborate on cybersecurity solutions for the fuel and energy sectors in allied nations.
Under the agreement, the Ministry will share its accumulated expertise with Cybers, which will guide the development of technologies designed to strengthen digital defenses across national energy infrastructures.
The initiative includes testing and refining next-generation threat detection systems and integrating them into both domestic and international projects. These tools will also support Russian companies building energy infrastructure abroad.
The project is part of a broader effort to build a localized cybersecurity industry capable of addressing emerging digital threats. Allied nations will be offered access to these tools to bolster their energy sector resilience.
The 28th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, where the deal was announced, has already seen dozens of major agreements in economics and security since opening on June 18.
