Russia Rolls Out Voice Bot to Monitor Cardiac Patients Remotely

In a move to digitize cardiac care, Russian doctors are using a voice-enabled robot to track the health of thousands of patients with chronic heart conditions.

Telemedicine is reshaping cardiac care in Russia, where doctors are now using automated voice bots to monitor patients remotely. In the Perm region, a new system connects with individuals suffering from diabetes, hypertension, and heart failure, collecting vital health data on a daily basis. The deployment was reported by Komsomolskaya Pravda.

Using pre-programmed speech templates, the digital assistant calls patients each day to gather key indicators such as blood pressure and glucose levels. If a serious anomaly is detected, the algorithm instantly alerts medical personnel.

Doctors then follow up directly with the patient, schedule in-person appointments, or dispatch emergency services if necessary. The system is already tracking the conditions of roughly 10,000 people in the Perm region.

Similar telehealth tools are being used in Russia to monitor pregnant women and residents in remote areas. In a separate development, Russian researchers have also created a voice app to assist physicians in evaluating patients with Parkinson’s disease.

This application enables remote assessments from home, logging patient data into electronic medical records and monitoring progression over time. It's particularly useful during post-op recovery or for catching early signs of deterioration.
