Russia Sees 250% Surge in Demand for AI-Skilled Professionals

Mastering artificial intelligence tools is quickly becoming a must-have skill in the country’s job market

Interest in AI literacy is booming across Russia. According to a new survey by Level Group, more than 60% of respondents believe the ability to use AI provides a strong advantage when job hunting, and over half expect it to become a mandatory skill in the near future.

The demand for AI-related services has jumped 250% in just one year, with most requests centered on AI-generated video and photo content. Meanwhile, interest in learning to build neural networks has grown by 119%. Roughly one in five Russians is willing to pay for courses to acquire AI skills, while another 20% prefer to learn independently.

AI as an Economic Driver

“Both business and government are embracing AI to boost efficiency, save time, and increase profits,” said Kirill Pshinnik, cofounder and CEO of Zerocoder University. “Those who cling to old habits risk falling behind progress and losing their competitiveness.”

Pshinnik added that breaking stereotypes about AI requires public education — showing real-world examples where neural networks enhance, rather than replace, human work. He also emphasized the importance of open discussions about how AI is reshaping professional and personal life.

As Russia accelerates its digital transformation, experts increasingly view AI adoption not just as a tech trend but as a core driver of social and economic growth.
