Russia Tests AI System to Identify Unlicensed Hotels
Russia's Ministry of Economic Development and the Federal Service for Accreditation are testing an artificial intelligence system designed to identify unlicensed accommodation providers, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Alexey Khersontsev said.

The analysis has been forwarded to regulatory authorities for follow-up inspections.
At a meeting of the classification council, Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov said the classification system has been operating for more than a year. The national registry now includes 30,500 accommodation providers, including hotels, campgrounds, and recreation centers, with roughly half of them being added to the registry for the first time.
According to Reshetnikov, the main challenge now is overseeing accommodation providers that continue to operate without obtaining the required classification.
