Russian developer rolls out a major update to its application load-balancing platform
Uveon – Cloud Technologies has unveiled TermideskConnect 1.2, a new release designed to improve fault tolerance and high availability for enterprise IT services.

What’s new in TermideskConnect 1.2
Uveon – Cloud Technologies, part of the Astra Group, one of Russia’s leading infrastructure software vendors, has introduced an updated solution for application load balancing and high availability. With TermideskConnect 1.2, the company is targeting organizations that rely on uninterrupted digital services and need predictable performance under growing loads.
This is more than a routine update. The developers have significantly reworked the load-balancing and gateway subsystems, strengthened security controls, simplified administration, and completely redesigned the web interface. The goal is to make the platform easier to operate while delivering more stable performance in real-world enterprise environments.
The load-balancing engine itself has been upgraded with new algorithms. The system can now account for differences in server capacity, task execution order, and the real-time availability of individual nodes. Support for heterogeneous servers makes it possible to distribute traffic more intelligently across clusters where nodes play different roles or have different performance characteristics.

For businesses, this translates into higher stability for mission-critical services during peak demand, more efficient use of existing hardware, and smoother scaling as the number of users grows.
TermideskConnect has also been migrated to Astra Linux 1.8, improving performance and ensuring tighter integration with other products in the Astra ecosystem. One notable addition is a built-in smart gateway that provides a single, secure entry point to the Termidesk virtual environment.
Unlike traditional gateways, it supports not only standard application traffic but also services that rely on UDP connections. This expands the range of systems that can be safely published through the platform, which is particularly useful for modern enterprise applications and specialized services.

Security made easier
Security has been reinforced both at the perimeter and inside the infrastructure. Version 1.2 introduces configurable DDoS protection profiles that allow defenses to be tailored to specific network architectures and risk levels. A pre-authentication mechanism for incoming requests adds another layer of protection by filtering traffic before it reaches internal systems, a critical requirement for environments with strict information security policies.
The release also adds support for special server maintenance modes. Administrators can safely take nodes out of a cluster without noticeable impact on users or SLA metrics, reducing the risk of unplanned downtime. Other enhancements include updated licensing options, support for standard monitoring protocols (SNMP v2/v3), and the ability to document configurations directly within the interface.
International collaboration has also become easier. The TermideskConnect web interface now includes an English localization, making the platform more accessible for projects involving external contractors or international partners. Expanded table management, click-to-edit functionality, and built-in documentation further reduce the time spent on routine administrative tasks.

The new version of TermideskConnect helps both public-sector and commercial online services operate more reliably, reduce downtime, and better protect sensitive data. It gives Russian organizations a practical way to build resilient, highly available digital services without relying on foreign software. Support for Astra Linux 1.8 also reinforces import substitution in critical infrastructure.
In a broader sense, the update strengthens Russia’s digital sovereignty and contributes to the development of a domestic ecosystem of infrastructure software. The addition of an English interface opens the door to future export opportunities in friendly markets and among corporate customers already using Astra Linux.
