Specialists at a Rosneft research institute in Volgograd have developed what they describe as Russia’s first software designed to automate planning for equipment maintenance and repair at industrial facilities.

Planning major overhauls typically requires a detailed defect report outlining the required operations, materials, and technical resources.

Based on such reports, engineers calculate different categories of costs. The new software fully automates the creation of defect reports and cost estimates.

Speed, Simplicity, Accuracy

The software’s database includes detailed descriptions of all equipment at a facility. When planning major repairs, users can locate the required equipment in the system and automatically generate a list of tasks, materials, and technical resources.

The system can be used at both oil refining and petrochemical plants. The developers say it reduces the time needed to prepare documentation by an average of sixfold.
