UserGate Begins Mass Production of Russian Web Application Firewall Appliances
Russian cybersecurity company UserGate has launched serial production of its UserGate WAF hardware-software appliances for protecting web applications. The UserGate WAF platform has been certified by Russia's Federal Service for Technical and Export Control (FSTEC), making UserGate the country's only domestic manufacturer of trusted hardware-software appliances in this product category.
According to Vitaly Abramovich, product development manager for UserGate WAF, customer demand for certified security appliances began emerging during the product's public testing phase in early 2025. Since then, the company has focused on bringing the platform into compliance with FSTEC requirements. He said the product is now ready for commercial deliveries.
The regulator's certification allows UserGate WAF to be deployed in government information systems and critical infrastructure facilities. For commercial organizations, the platform provides a path to replacing foreign WAF solutions without disrupting business operations. The product line includes five hardware platforms — D200, E1000, E3010, F8000, and F8010 — designed to meet the needs of organizations of different sizes.
