Irkutsk Polytechnic Secures More Than 30 Patents and Software Registrations in a Year
Irkutsk National Research Technical University (INRTU) registered 64 intellectual property assets in 2025, including 31 certificates for computer software. The developments span a range of fields, including aircraft manufacturing, geophysics, chemical engineering, and jewelry design.

Among the university's flagship projects is an electric drilling machine with an automatic feed system designed for the aerospace industry. The prototype has already completed testing at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant and the Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.
The university's digital developments include software for processing geophysical survey data collected by drones, a program for scanning engineering drawings, and a system for analyzing the operation of aluminum electrolyzers. INRTU also patented jewelry designs in partnership with Russian Gemstones JSC and registered the board game Nedropoliya, which was created to promote interest in the mining industry.
