Kursk Nuclear Power Plant hosted a scientific and technical paper competition that gave early-career employees an opportunity to present proposals aimed at improving operations across the nuclear industry. Topics included monitoring and reducing tritium accumulation in the process systems of Kursk NPP-2, using additive manufacturing to produce spare parts, and evaluating the potential for producing the radioisotope cobalt-60.

After reviewing the presentations, the expert panel awarded first place to Anna Gruzdeva, an instrumentation and automation engineer at Kursk NPP-2. Her presentation focused on optimizing the staged startup automation algorithm for Unit 1 at the plant.

The competition is held on a regular basis, providing young professionals with an opportunity to develop and showcase their ideas. According to the organizers, many of the proposals presented at these events are later implemented in the plant's operations.
