Russian Cinema Technology Is Expected to Be Installed in Beijing
A Yakut-based company is set to equip a cultural center in Beijing with a Russian-developed digital cinema system, expanding access to films and cultural events.

Russian film screening technology is expected to be installed at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing. Yakut-based Ekstra Sinema will supply a secure hardware-software комплекс with a digital platform, a projector with an integrated media service, a computer, cloud storage and a screening management system, according to the government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).
The new equipment will support film screenings and cultural events. Tatyana Urzhuntseva, head of the center in Beijing, said the program will include both new releases and older films presented in high quality.

Pyotr Chiryaev, head of Ekstra Sinema, said the pilot project will help the company develop approaches to reducing technological and financial barriers to organizing screenings at cultural centers abroad.
The regional government said Ekstra Sinema was designed specifically to enable film screenings in infrastructure-constrained environments. The network currently operates 79 online cinemas, including in remote Arctic areas, highlighting how new technologies are expanding access to culture and the arts.
