Sberbank Automates Accounting Data Flows, Saving Outsourcing Firms Up to 25 Hours

As banking services go digital, Sberbank’s “Portal bukhgaltera” (Accountant’s Portal) is reshaping how outsourcing agencies handle bookkeeping for small and mid-sized businesses. Last year, the platform helped automate routine operations, and a newly launched feature is already saving accountants up to 25 hours of work time.

Automated Statements Across Banks

Accountants and outsourcing agencies using SberBusiness can now centrally receive bank statements for all their clients from any bank in Russia. The data is automatically uploaded into 1C. There is no longer a need to log into multiple online banking systems, manually download files, and import them into accounting software – Portal bukhgaltera handles the entire workflow on its own.

Reducing manual operations significantly lowers the risk of data transfer errors, accelerates reporting cycles, and frees up specialists’ time. Integrating banking infrastructure with 1C, the most widely used accounting and tax software in Russia’s corporate market, reflects a direct focus on customer usability and operational efficiency.

From Bank to Business Platform

Expanding Portal bukhgaltera’s functionality aligns with Sberbank’s broader strategy of evolving from a traditional financial institution into a platform operator for business services. In the near term, compatibility is expected to extend beyond 1C: Bukhgalteriya (1C: Accounting) to popular cloud ERP systems such as Moy Sklad and Kontur. Further automation of routine processes is also anticipated.

The service is free for Sber clients. However, granting other banks or accounting platforms commercial access to its aggregation engine could transform it from an internal efficiency tool into a scalable B2B product.

This is only the first step. Ahead lies the rollout of new automation scenarios with 1C, dashboards featuring key metrics, and expanded integration with Sber’s partner program. We are confident that this tool will become an indispensable assistant for anyone managing accounting across multiple companies

An Integration Play at Scale

Sberbank began testing Portal bukhgaltera in spring 2025 and launched it at full scale by autumn as a unified workspace for managing all client accounts. Consolidating financial data in one interface allows accountants to generate payment orders quickly, execute transactions, prepare payroll statements, and track operational status in real time. As a result, outsourcing firms were able to triple the number of clients they serve without compromising service quality.

The new feature introduced in February 2026 automated one of the most time-consuming accounting tasks – uploading statements from multiple banks directly into 1C.

Digitalization as Competitive Infrastructure

At this stage of digital economy development, offering isolated services is no longer enough. Seamless interoperability and broad data exchange have become critical. Demand for unified platforms capable of enabling this functionality is expected to grow over the next three years. Successful cases like Sberbank’s are likely to encourage major financial players, in partnership with IT companies, to develop and deploy similar aggregation solutions.

Russia’s digital transformation is advancing without high-profile announcements but with measurable economic impact. For accounting firms, this translates into direct cost savings and improved service quality. For Sberbank, it strengthens its positioning as a business services platform. For the broader digital economy ecosystem, it reduces transaction costs in the small and medium-sized business segment.
