Digital technologies are reshaping healthcare. In Sevastopol, advanced tools, including artificial intelligence, are helping expand access to free dental care. Dentists are actively using AI systems in the diagnosis and treatment of dental conditions.

New technologies are especially valuable in three-dimensional imaging. Smart programs help specialists analyze the condition of jaws and teeth. In addition, AI can suggest a treatment plan for the dentist to consider.

“In fact, dentistry has almost always been ahead of most medical fields when it comes to technology. For all 11 years that we’ve been working here in Sevastopol, we’ve been using artificial intelligence. In particular, in computed tomography and three-dimensional studies of jaws and teeth, we rely on software assistants that analyze a patient’s dental condition. With a doctor involved, of course, they suggest a treatment plan. We also use artificial intelligence at the planning stage,” said Vyacheslav Nikolsky, chief physician of Sevastopol Dental Clinic No. 1.

Monitoring Treatment Results

AI systems are also used to monitor treatment outcomes. However, Nikolsky stresses that the final decision always remains with the doctor.

Earlier, we reported that the dental clinic of Pacific State Medical University began using AI-based software for the automated analysis of computed tomography data of the maxillofacial region.
