Bunin Estate in Russia’s Lipetsk Region to Get a Digital Revival
The historic site is set to launch three digital products for visitors

Three digital projects are set to be introduced at the estate of Russian writer Ivan Bunin in the village of Ozyorki in Russia’s Lipetsk region, according to regional authorities. The cultural institution has secured a grant to develop an audio play–guide that visitors can download to their smartphones and use while exploring the estate independently. The digital guide will also feature excerpts from Bunin’s works. A podcast series titled “Unknown Bunin” is also planned, focusing on lesser-known aspects of his life and work, to be distributed across digital platforms.
Technology for Tourists
The museum will also host a virtual exhibition featuring essays, poems, and artworks created by young Russian writers and artists participating in youth creative residencies. All of these digital experiences are designed to operate without on-site staff. According to regional governor Igor Artamonov, the project is expected to boost the area’s appeal to tourists.
Digital technologies in Russia are increasingly being used to preserve historical and cultural heritage. A team of specialists from Tver is digitizing and reconstructing historic buildings using augmented reality technologies.
