Digital Feedback Platform Boosts Quality of Life in Russian Regions

A government-backed system in the Irkutsk region is streamlining the way residents report local issues—and get them fixed
In Russia’s Irkutsk region, a government-built Digital Feedback Platform is gaining traction as a go-to tool for solving everyday problems in housing, public utilities, and local safety. Developed under the national “Data Economy and Digital Government Transformation” project, the platform allows residents to flag issues directly to responsible agencies and receive rapid responses.
What sets the system apart is its transparency: after a report is addressed, users receive photographic proof of the completed work. Integrated with Russia’s “Gosuslugi” public services portal, the platform also offers access via official government social media channels, including the Irkutsk regional government’s VKontakte page.
Officials say the system is more than just a tech upgrade—it’s part of a broader push to use digital tools to improve living standards and strengthen trust between citizens and local authorities.
